WEEK 12 - RECAP.gif

WEEK 12 RE-CAP

There were some huge numbers put up all across the league this week - including the second highest scoring match in ICLAFF history. Here’s what we witnessed this past weekend in the ICLAFF…

The match of the week… perhaps the match of the season so far took place between the OTTAWA ROSS RIDERS and the STAND ALONE AMERICAN. Both teams put up huge scores, it went back and forth all weekend, and it ended with the wildest finish in an otherwise sloppy Monday Night Football game. Joe who? QB Jordan Love stepped in for Burrow on Thanksgiving Thursday and scored 27 points to get the Riders out in front if only for a couple of hours, because Rick’s Niners combo of RB Christian McCaffrey and WR Deebo Samuel had a big Thursday night together scoring 53 to take over the lead. It was 75-42 going into action Sunday, but then Ross got 42 points from his two RB’s Derrick Henry and Rhamondre Stevenson to steal back the lead, 94-93. Later that afternoon WR Devonte Smith scored 24 and helped put Rick back out in front 127-122 to set the stage for Monday night. In the first quarter Bears WR DJ Moore was able to put Ross out in front once again by just 0.24 points, a lead he was able to extended to 4 points by the end of the first half. Tight end TJ Hockenson had 0 catches for Rick in the first half, but three straight passes to the Vikings’ big man to start the second half gave the Lone American the lead back, but just by 0.26. There was another lead change with 8 minutes left in the third putting Ross in front, but then with 6 minutes left in the game Hobbs connected with Hockenson in the end zone making the score 143-136 for Rick. It should’ve been over then… but by the two minute warning Moore helped shave the lead to just 3 points, and then with 59 seconds left he caught a 32 yard pass - the longest play for either team all night - to seal the game for the Riders, a thrilling 145-143 finish to spoil Rick’s Thanksgiving. It’s the second time this season the Lone American has put up over 140 points and lost, and this one is a serious blow to their already fading playoff hopes.

There was also a back and forth affair on The Lake this weekend between the DARTH RAIDERS and the CRYSTAL LAKE SLASHERS with the lead changing hands a couple times throughout the weekend. Packers WR Christian Watson lit it up on Thursday right from the first play of the game picking up 20 and getting the D-Raiders out in front by 3 points. On Sunday WR Nick Collin’s 23 point performance helped the Slashers regain the lead, 67-60 after the 1pm action. In the late afternoon the D-Raiders began to pull away thanks to QB Patrick Mahomes and RB Josh Jacob’s combining for 44 points in the same game. Eagles QB Justin Hurts did his part to keep it close scoring 5 touchdowns, but the rest of Glen’s lineup could mange only one all weekend. Even without the 25 points Howie left on his bench with WR Rashee Rice, his team scores 130 points and wins this one by 9. The D-Raiders get their revenge for a Week 6 loss at home by picking up the win in Crystal Lake, and after finally working their way out last week the Slashers are knocked back down into the Finkle Four with just two weeks left to play.

3RD AND LONG was in The Bay looking to take care of business against PURDY GOOD. Having three players in the first Thursday game Ryan expected to get a good lead, but together they only scored 29. Friday was much better for The Bottles - WR Tyreek Hill and Miami’s D were huge combining to give him 48 points to get them out to a 84-0 lead before any of Shawn’s players even took the field. On Sunday WR Calvin Ridley scored 21 for PG and the Steelers D stood their ground and had 11 points… but Ryan kept adding points, getting 21 more from RB Jonathan Taylor. WR Zay Flowers had a nice afternoon with 23, but by the end of play on Sunday Shawn still trailed 126-80. By the time Monday Night Football kicked off this match was pretty much over, but if Purdy Good could pick up 20 points with RB Khalil Herbert and WR KJ Osborn it would be the first time ever in the ICLAFF that every team scored over 100 points in the same week. Unfortunately they came up 8 points shy. Thanks for letting everyone down Shawn. This loss has to have him feeling purdy nervous about his playoff chances. 3&L clinches first place with a convincing 126-82 win, their 10th victory of the season!

STRAIGHT OUTTA COUGHLIN was looking for their third straight victory on the road against ERIC’S E-ALLS. Lions’ RB David Montgomery scored 15 points Thursday to get SO-CO off and running, but Dallas RB Tony Pollard was quick to answer in the next game for Eric with 22. On Friday Matt added 21 from Raheem Mostert in his Flex spot to lead 44-27 going into Sunday - but that’s when his struggles began. RB Saquan Barkley was a let down this week, and for whatever reason Carolina only attempted to throw the ball to their best WR Adam Thielen twice all game… no wonder they fired their coach yesterday! After the 1pm games Matt held a slim lead of 69-53 but all of Eric’s stars got going in the later games. RB Isiah Pacheco scored twice and put up 26 points, QB Russell Wilson had 17, and then Sunday night Keenan Allen piled on 23 more. SO-CO had no answer for the E-Alls this week and lose 134-104. They scored the most points last week, but had the second least this week and fall to 7-5, dropping to 4th place. For the third straight week Eric puts up more than 130 points, and picks up his 6th victory of the season. Afterwards The Eazy E Posse poured into the streets to celebrate the big win!

J-OSHAWA ALLEN was trying to snap a two game losing streak in Sin City against the LAS VEGAS SUN WORSHIPERS. It was a slow start for Mike’s group, he only managed to get 15 points on Thursday with 3 players, while Rich was able to pick up 73 from his 4 Cowbitches, including 32 from QB Dak Prescott. Then on Sunday RB Alvin Kamara added 16 giving the Worshipers a 96-70 lead after the 1pm games. Just when things looked most bleak for the Shwa, they battled back… RB Michael Pittman Jr. scored 21 points to go along with the 27 Bijan Robinson had already put up, then in the rain team namesake Josh Allen scored just under 40 points and pulled off the “Al Bundy“ - 4 touchdowns in one game. The Shwa storms back to take this one 124-111 and the loyal J-Oshawa Mafia members that made the trip to Vegas hit the Strip and celebrated until Tuesday morning. It’s another disappointing loss for the Worshipers… and this one hurts like a swift kick to the groin.

It was a bottle between two 6-5 teams with MARC’S FUNKY BUNCH hosting HOOKED ON A THIELEN. The Bunch got going on Thursday afternoon with 19 points from Detroit WR Amon-Ra St Brown, then added 23 points that evening with RB Zach Charbonnet and WR Brandon Aiyuk. Jets WR Garrett Wilson brought Don closer with 17 on Friday, but then on Sunday QB Trevor Lawrence scored 25 and helped extend Marc’s lead to 87-49 after the early games. The Purple T’s were not to be outdone however - Rams RB Kyren Williams comes back after 5 weeks on the IR and runs for 143 yards, scores two TD’s, and gets Don 38 fantasy points. Bills WR Stefon Diggs also added on 19 points as Hooked-T cruises to a 134-114 victory. After a fall in the standings last week, Don goes from 6th place all the way back up to 3rd… while Marc is just barely hanging on to that last playoff position.
