WEEK 11 RE-CAP
Wow what a week! A lot of exciting matches led to some big shifting in the standings. Here’s what went down this past weekend in the ICLAFF…
There was a ton of drama down in Crystal Lake this week in the battle between the OTTAWA ROSS RIDERS and CRYSTAL LAKE SLASHERS. The Thursday night game would prove to be key to this matchup - RB Joe Mixon scored 21 points for the Slashers, and the big story for the Riders was Joe Burrow’s wrist injury early in the first half which has likely ended his season. RB Brian Robinson Jr added 20 more points for the Slashers on Sunday, and Ross fought back getting 23 from Bears receiver DJ Moore… but then suffered another devastating injury to RB Kenneth Walker III early in his game after scoring just 3 points. This match was still close after Sunday with the Slashers leading 81-76, but each side still had two players going in Monday night’s Super Bowl rematch. In the weekend finale Ross’ Riders could only squeeze 8 points out of AJ Brown and Harrison Butker, while Glen was able to add 39 using Jalen Hurts and D’Andre Swift - the Slashers win this one at home 120-84. Losing two players early in games was just too much for Ross to overcome. Fans in Crystal Lake are going wild! That’s 3 in a row for the Slashers to move them back into a playoff position. On the other side it’s two straight losses for the Riders and now two huge injury losses to deal with… what a tough week. After the match Ross was still pretty emotional about the injury to Cool Joe.

In an offensive shootout, 3RD AND LONG and ERIC’S E-ALLS combined for over 276 points. It was a big weekend for both team’s star receivers - Tyreek Hill had his 4th 30+ point game scoring 31 for Ryan, and Keenan Allen put up 28 points for Eric. TE George Kittle and WR Davante Adams also had 20+ points games for the Double E’s, but Ryan’s offence exploded again this week finishing on Sunday afternoon with 144 points and a 36 point lead over Eric who still had two players to go. QB Russell Wilson was in action Sunday night and added 12, leaving the gap at 21 points going into Monday… but RB Isiah Pacheco could only manage 10 more points on MNF, and 3&L hangs on for a 144-133 victory. Ryan now has a two game lead over the rest of the league, and takes one step closer to locking up first place. Eric does this week, what Ryan did last week - he scored over 130 points but still lost.

For the 4th time this season STRAIGHT OUTTA COUGHLIN scores over 150 points in a 62 point thrashing of the LAS VEGAS SUN WORSHIPERS. Rich got off to a good start on Thursday cashing in 27 points from Ravens teammates Odell Beckham Jr and Justin Tucker, then on Sunday just 15 minutes before kickoff Matt decided to make a lineup change and go with rookie Tank Dell at WR… and the move paid off with 30 points. Saquon Barkley also had 30 (a season high), and the Bills defence added 21 as every player in SO-CO’s lineup but the kicker scored well into double digits this week. Rich’s highest scorer was his Dallas D with 23 points, and ironically his next highest was the Giants D on his bench with 19. He must have been busy watching the Grey Cup because he actually left two lineup spots empty this week making it that much easier for Matt. Even if you gave the Worshipers the 48 points that all their bench players collectively scored this week, it still wouldn’t have been enough to catch up. Matt didn’t even need Kelce’s 15 points Monday night, but they did help him pass his brother for top score of the week… and pass his father as top scorer for the season. Big Blue jumps from 4th place all the way up to 2nd, and it’s safe to say that for the second straight year they’re headed to the Bundy Bowl playoffs!

A team not going to the playoffs is the DARTH RAIDERS who were in action this week against MARC’S FUNKY BUNCH. Howie was able to get 20 points out of Texans’ RB Devin Singletary and in the same game picked up 12 from Cardinals WR Rondale Moore, but Jags QB Trevor Lawrence was great this week for The Bunch tallying up 32 points… and WR Brandon Aiyuk pitched in another 27. Marc’s lineup finished up on Sunday with 132 points holding a 55 points lead over Howie who had two Chiefs in action Monday night. QB1 Patty Mahommes was good but not great in the loss to the Eagles scoring 17 points, and WR Rashee Rice could only muster together 8… not nearly enough to put any dent in the Funky Bunch’s massive lead. Marc wins 132-104 and jumps up one spot in the standings to 5th place. There will be no Bundy Bowl for the D-Raiders this year, they’ve pretty much been eliminated from the playoffs. They’ll now have to focus their efforts on avoiding having to bring a different trophy back to the Death Star.

The upset of the week is PURDY GOOD taking down HOOKED ON A THIELEN. It was a tough start for Don losing TE Mark Andrews to injury in the first half of the Thursday night game, probably for the rest of the season. PG had 3 players score 20 or more this week - RB Jaylen Warren with 24, QB Justin Herbert reached 26, and Calvin Ridley was the top WR in all of fantasy football this week scoring an impressive 31 points. The score was 134-49 going into Monday where Don still had a glimmer of hope that his 3 players - QB Josh Dobbs, RB Javonte Williams, and WR Stefon Diggs - could help make up the 85 point difference. They could only get him 31, and this one ended in a 134-81 blowout win for the team from The Bay. For the second straight week Shawn puts up a season high for points and is rewarded by moving up 3 spots in the standings to 4th place. It’s the exact opposite story for Don, he puts up a season low in points and after consecutive losses he slides the other way in the standings, from 3rd all the way down to 6th place.

It was close most of the weekend between the STAND ALONE AMERICAN and J-OSHAWA ALLEN. It was 24-21 for Rick after Thursday, thanks to QB Lemar Jackson for him and RB Gus Edwards for Shwa. On Sunday RB Christian McCaffrey found his way back into the end zone putting up 21 fantasy points for Rick, and QB Josh Allen had a bounce back week with the Bills scoring 23 for Mike and tying the match up 94-94 after the 4pm games. It was tied again 100-100 at halftime of the Sunday night game, but then the Vikings D gave up a couple of fantasy points for Mike while Rick was able to get 10 from his tight end TJ Hockenson, and then another 16 from WR Devonta Smith on Monday night to eventually take this one 119-98. The Lone American snaps a 3 game losing streak and remains in the playoff conversation, being just one game back of the final spot. The Shwa loses for the second straight week and takes the biggest fall of any team down the ICLAFF standings. They slide from 5th place all the way down to 9th… that’s right my friend, you’re now in the Finkle Four.
